Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Craving a delicious grilled cheese? Here's our version of this classic sandwich!
Here's what you'll need:
- Double cream mild brie
- Bacon
- Grilled/ roasted pineapple
- Butter
- Good quality brioche or sourdough (you can purchase this from a local bakery)
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 F for 20 to 30 mins. Cut bacon into half and roast it in the oven until crispy
- Grilled/Roasted pineapple - refer to roasted pineapple recipe. Use slightly more pineapple habanero hot sauce and butter. Alternatively, for a jam like filling, cook contents in a pan and blend in a food processor. Cool before using
- Slice brie into 1/2 cm slices. Allow to reach room temperature
- Spread butter liberally on one side of each slice of bread
- Warm pan to medium heat, place bread sliced buttered side down. Add cheese on one slice. Place bacon over brie, place pineapple chunks over bacon. Spread pineapple habanero hot sauce on the other slice. When both slices are browned and crispy, close sandwich and slice (if using jam, spread jam on the other slice of bread)
- If cheese hasn't melted, simply place sandwich in oven and let it melt
