OG Shrimp

It's Tamil Heritage month in Toronto. Show your friends some Tamil hospitality this month and make it easy. Shrimp with OG Tamil Meat Seasoning will never get old. Make yourself some OG Tamil Shrimp with these super easy instructions below.
 
Ingredients:
  • 2 lb good quality shrimp or prawns (cleaned and shelled)
  • 1 medium or large onion (diced)
  • 10 torn curry leaves
  • 1.5 tbsp OG Tamil Meat Seasoning + more if needed to taste
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp good quality virgin coconut oil or good quality ghee
  • lime wedges to finish and to serve on the side
  • sliced chives or scallions for garnish
 
Method:

You must work very quickly as this is cooked on high heat, the whole cooking process should take under 6-7mins
  • Get a wok or large pan over high heat, add coconut oil or ghee
  • add curry leaves, onions, and temper
  • add shrimp once you see some color on the onions
  • add the soy sauce and OG Tamil Meat Seasoning right after
  • add sugar
  • cook for 1 min and do not let your shrimp overcook as it will become rubbery if you do
  • squeeze a little bit of lime over it and toss
  • serve garnished with chives or scallion and lime wedges, great with white rice, roti, roast paan (crusty baked Sri Lankan bread which is further toasted -get it at any Tamil bakery) or straight up on its own with your favorite drink!
